Diversity and innovation in our teams
Diversity and interdisciplinarity are central strengths of our daycare centers.
Our teams are deliberately diverse: in addition to pedagogical expertise, experiences and perspectives from various professional and life backgrounds enrich our daily practice and enhance quality.
We invest specifically in the development of our professionals.
Regular training and continuing education ensure they stay current in their knowledge and methods, stay attuned to societal trends, and effectively integrate innovative ideas into their work.
Together, we create education that puts people first.
Our Currrent Job Offers:
Become Part of Our Dedicated Team!
Hello Human,
We are the Kita am Alex of MAHALO gGmbH — a place for diversity, participation, and vibrant educational work in the heart of Berlin.
At our daycare center, we follow an open-concept approach: children move independently between different activity and learning spaces, explore their interests, and actively shape their everyday experiences. To ensure this happens within a safe, mindful, and well-coordinated environment, we are currently looking for an early childhood educator — preferably with an additional qualification as an Integration Specialist — to take on the unique role of our so-called “Hallway Guide.”
The “Hallway Guide” is a key figure within our open-concept framework: present, connecting, guiding, and supportive — equally for children, parents, and the team.
Your Responsibilities as a “Hallway Guide”
- Coordinating and supporting the educational daily routine within the open-concept environment
- Maintaining an overview of the different learning spaces and their occupancy
- Supporting and coordinating team members within the respective rooms
- Serving as a contact person for children moving between spaces
- Providing social and emotional support to children throughout the day
- Offering guidance and support during transitions and everyday situations
- Sensitively recognizing needs, conflicts, and group dynamics
- Acting as a point of contact within the team for organizational or spontaneous needs
- Supporting daily operations (“seeing what needs to be done”)
- Assisting during drop-off and pick-up situations
- Building trusting and approachable relationships with parents through informal conversations
- Helping shape an inclusive, participatory, and respectful atmosphere
What You Should Bring
- A completed qualification as a state-recognized educator, social pedagogue, childhood educator, or a comparable qualification
- Ideally, an additional qualification as an Integration Specialist
- Experience with or interest in open-concept education and inclusive pedagogy
- Strong presence, observational skills, and organizational abilities
- Enjoyment in building relationships and connecting people
- Empathy, calmness, and confidence in dynamic situations
- Respectful communication with children, parents, and colleagues
- Openness toward diversity, different life realities, and teamwork
- Motivation to contribute ideas and support ongoing development
What We Offer
- A respectful, diverse, and interdisciplinary team
- Flat hierarchies and transparent communication
- Space for your own ideas and active participation
- Regular professional training and development opportunities
- Supervision and coaching
- Weekly team meetings
- Dedicated preparation and follow-up time
- 31 vacation days as a base
- Additional days off and attractive benefits
- Fresh vegetarian organic meals
- Modern, bright facilities and a large outdoor area
- Meaningful work with plenty of creative freedom
- And of course: fantastic children and a pretty good sense of humor

We look forward to receiving your application!

Kita am Gleis | MAHALO gGmbH
Start: Immediately | Fixed-term until 31 December 2026 | Possibility of Extension
Did you become an early childhood educator because you love supporting children, exploring their ideas, and discovering the world together?
Do you enjoy developing projects, building dens, exploring the Gleispark, reading stories, experimenting, making music, cooking, crafting, or simply going on adventures with children?
Then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We are looking for a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Kita am Gleis for 30 hours per week until the end of 2026. We are seeking someone who wants to contribute their strengths where they matter most: in meaningful everyday interactions with children.
What Makes This Position Special
This fixed-term role gives you the opportunity to focus on what many educators enjoy most: spending quality time with children and creating inspiring educational experiences.

- leading children’s settling-in (transition) processes
- maintaining children’s language learning portfolios/documentation
- taking the lead in ongoing parent communication and family partnerships
Instead, your focus will be on being present with the children, supporting their learning, and enriching everyday life in the classroom.

We are MAHALO gGmbH.
We see children as capable, competent individuals, meet them with respect, and create learning environments shaped by participation, diversity, sustainability, and mutual appreciation. Our team values open communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional growth.

- Additional vacation days based on length of service
- Fresh organic meals
- A BVG public transport ticket, a €50 monthly gift voucher, Urban Sports Club membership, or bicycle leasing
- Modern facilities located directly next to Gleispark
- Competitive salary by agreement
What You Bring
- A recognized qualification as an Early Childhood Educator (state-certified in Germany) or an equivalent recognized qualification in early childhood or educational practice
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm for designing your own projects
- A respectful, strengths-based, and child-centered approach
- Openness to teamwork, reflection, and continuous learning
- A commitment to an educational philosophy that embraces participation, diversity, and inclusion as everyday practice
