Green makes school – Our garden in a new look

Our daycare garden has changed – in the very best sense of the word! Thanks to funding from the “Grün macht Schule” program, we were able to redesign parts of our garden last summer at – and deliberately take a step away from pure movement areas towards more communication and encounters.

Together with an experienced landscape architect, who was responsible for planning and implementing , we created a garden area that invites children to linger, exchange ideas and discover things together. Instead of asphalted paths, small spaces were created using natural materials such as wood, stone, earth and plants.

The children can now balance, build caves, hide or sit on the wooden beams and have a snack. There are quiet corners to retreat to as well as open areas for playing together – in the spirit of a garden that combines communication, creativity and experiencing nature.

What’s particularly nice is that the children were involved in the process, were able to help design and now experience every day how nature, play and community can be combined.

We would like to thank the “Grün macht Schule” funding program for its support – and are delighted at how lively and lovingly our garden is now being experienced in a new way.
